Where is Noah’s ark? The search for researchers and treasure hunters

In Genesis of the Bible it is narrated how God asked Noah to build a large wooden ship where he would place a male and a female of each species. It would also be the refuge where his family would take shelter from the Great Universal Flood. The ship known as Noah’s Ark, as it is named in sacred texts, ultimately saved the animal species and Noah’s family who later repopulated the Earth. That is what the , however, until now there is no scientific evidence to prove that the event happened in real life. However, fortune hunters have gone in search of what they believe is Noah’s Ark, which according to them is real.

According to Christian tradition and biblical texts, after the Great Flood the ark rests in the Ararat Mountains. And although there is a lot of speculation about it, it must be said that in fact Ararat is the name of the highest mountain in Turkey. However, the texts do not specify the exact place where the ship that protected Noah from disaster rests. Although treasure hunters believe they have a clue as to where Noah’s Ark is.

Remains of Noah’s Ark?

More than a decade ago, researcher Daniel McGivern claimed to have found different wooden planks in the area. However, he was not taken seriously as McGivern’s deep religious beliefs may have interfered with his objective view of the matter. His research was relegated to oblivion, although he is not the only one who claims to have found remains of Noah’s Ark.

Professor Raúl Esperante of the Geosciences Research Institute and sponsored by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, is doing everything possible to prove that Mount Ararat is the place where Noah’s Ark lies. And he is not the only one, in April 2010 NAMI archaeologists reported finding the ship at the top of Mount Ararat. NAMI researcher Man-Fai Yuen said: “The search team and I personally entered a wooden structure at the top of the mountain. The structure is divided into different spaces. “We believe that the wooden structure we entered is the same one mentioned in the past and the same old ship indicated by the locals.”

Added to this is the peculiar shape of Mount Ararat, which resembles a geometric figure covered in terrestrial sediment. Although skeptical researchers have said that the outline of the rock formation may simply be something out of the ordinary, but natural nonetheless.

Skepticism in the air

Today there are various investigations that try to clarify the matter. While some are betting that Noah’s Ark lies on top of Mount Ararat, others simply believe that this is not possible. There is a lot of skepticism around the site, due to the possible influence of religious beliefs on the objective investigative vision. Although all eyes are on the summit of Ararat, if it is confirmed that Noah’s Ark is located there, it would be a discovery on par with the Stone, the one that made it possible to decipher the hieroglyphic language of the ancient Egyptians.
