In recent years there have been many studies that have been done on sexual habits, both at the level of Spain and Europe and the world. In most of the surveys carried out, our country comes out well, obtaining a good grade in terms of sexual satisfaction. However, in the same way that these studies have shown that there are some differences between the sexuality of citizens depending on their autonomous community of origin, neither are our habits and our sexual preferences are the same as our neighboring countries.
Now, how is sex life in other parts of the world? Do sexual habits change a lot? To answer this and other unknowns, the British medical portal dred.com, specializing in issues related to sexology, has published the results of a study that analyzes multiple sexual parameters, including the preferred sexual positions of Europeans.
The result of this study leaves no room for doubt: Europeans in general feel a special predilection for the so-called puppy dog posture, which is highlighted as preferred by 35% of those surveyed. For their part, a remarkable 23% opted for another classic of sexual relations, the missionary position. This is followed by the cowgirl position, the plow position, the 69 position, and the spoon position. For its part, it is not until after the seventh position when oral sex appears as one of the main preferences of the citizens of the Old Continent, according to this study.
In any case, sexual preferences vary by gender. Thus, although the doggy position coincides as the favorite for both sexes, men then opt for “cowgirl” and women for “missionary”, sexual positions that allow sexual partners to be face to face during the act and that a deeper and emotional connection is created during the act.

But the study has not only looked at what we like, but also what we would like to try. It highlights, for example, that 20% of those surveyed would like to make love on a table. Another recurring sexual fantasy is to try the 69 position but with an added complication, doing it standing up. Also the wheelbarrow on his knees has his followers. In any case, sexual fantasies are not the same for men as for women. In this sense, although both sexes fantasize about having relationships applying the standing 69 position, they also feel a special predilection for anal sex, while women would like to make love on a table.
Without taking gender into account, in general terms the Spanish respondents coincide with those of the Netherlands and point out that their most recurring sexual fantasy it would be doing a 69 standing up. Perhaps this preference is influenced by the fact that 53% of the men surveyed mention pornography as their source of inspiration, a percentage that in the case of women drops to 19%.
Continuing with sexual fantasies, British, German, Italian and Portuguese would love to make love on a table. For their part, in Austria and Switzerland they mentioned that anal sex is the sexual practice they were most interested in trying. Finally, the Romanians were curious about the position of the plow and the Poles about 69.
