TARTRAZINE

It is an artificial coloring that is present in a large number of foods and drinks. Although its use is allowed in many countries, it is prohibited in Norway and was banned in Austria and in Germany.

Some people are sensitive to tartrazine and may present allergic reactions, mainly in those who are hypersensitive to aspirin and it is not recommended for asthmatic people, since it acts as a histamine releaser.

Tartrazine is a chemical that can cause allergies that occur in various forms in the body, such as asthma, hives, etc. Furthermore, generally in younger children it generates hyperactivity, or other disorders such as drowsiness, which is a state similar to what the person feels when they get up from sleep, that is, being disoriented, without strength and other symptoms. This sweetener is present in the vast majority of foods lights and is made up of three elements: Aspartic (40%), Phenylalanine (50%) and Methanol (10%), the latter being the one that can be harmful to the body if its consumption is excessive, although to give an idea and not be alarmist, according to the European Commission, the maximum amount of Aspartame that a human being can consume to that may affect your health is 21.3 mg/kg of body weight per day. And according to reports, consumption is between 2.8 and 7.5 mg/kg of body weight per day, which is equivalent to the 10% daily limit.

Aspartame, on the other hand, is more different, this chemical produces brain alterations, a sensation of abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and spasms. The difference with the previous one is that someone, to have any symptoms generated by this component, must ingest at least 40 milligrams. If we do the math, a person consumes 3 mg on average. That is to say, it has a wide safe level before the drug causes any damage, but the danger is still present and not all people react in the same way.

However, several studies on the impact of the artificial sweetener Aspartame on the risk of contracting cancer showed that a single “light” drink per day can seriously increase the chances of contracting leukemia, multiple myeloma and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

WHAT ALTERNATIVES ARE THERE?

Without a doubt, drinking water is the fundamental liquid for consumption and it is recommended to consume two liters a day to prevent various diseases and ailments. However, if you are one of the people who cannot reach that amount just by consuming water, these are other drinks that we can recommend:

  • Squeezed Orange Juice: helps fight cardiovascular diseases. Keep in mind that a glass of orange juice contains 22 grams of sugar and 122 calories.
  • Cranberry juice: can prevent gum and urinary tract diseases. This juice offers 39% of the daily value of Vitamin C, but abundant consumption can counteract these beneficial effects.

  • Green tea: it is one of the best antioxidants for the body, it reduces the risk of cancer and heart disease. It is recommended not to consume it after meals or abuse it, as it can have opposite effects if consumed in excess. Of course you should not drink it with sugar, honey, sweetener or any other non-natural sweetener.
  • Black tea: it has five fundamental properties. These are being antioxidant, astringent, diuretic, comforting and also stimulating. It is recommended not to consume it after meals or abuse it as it can cause nervousness (due to caffeine) and/or gastric problems.

Of course you should not drink them with sugar, honey, sweetener or any other non-natural sweetener.
