Panic attack – Integral Health Coaching.

It is a pathology that has physical symptoms: “feeling of being close to death, or madness. There may be tachycardia, breathing problems and a feeling of suffocation, among others”, says Gabriela Martínez Castro, a specialist in Anxiety Disorders. The first episode is never forgotten, so it is normal for those who have suffered it to be afraid that it will happen again.

BECAUSE?

* There is always a transgenerational predisposition, the socio-environmental environment of an anxious type (the people who surround you or surrounded you have been anxious, fearful or overprotective) and a stressful or triggering event.

* Triggers can be common and everyday: a stressful situation, a move, illness or death of loved ones, accidents, job change, among others.

* In panic disorder, the person’s life begins to be limited (they do not do their usual activities, or do them, but accompanied, for fear of having a crisis again and having no help or alternative escape at that time).

* It may be caused by a difficult birth or incest in the family tree.

PANIC SYMPTOMS

Palpitations, sweating, tremors, a feeling of lack of air, chest pressure, nausea, gastrointestinal problems, a feeling of fainting and unreality, fear of losing control, of dying, tingling sensation, chills or heat stroke, etc.

They show up suddenly. The maximum intensity is reached after ten minutes.

It can occur while being calm, walking smoothly, chatting with friends or co-workers. It’s hard to breathe and dizziness makes us think we might faint. We remain paralyzed by fear without being able to understand what is happening, but something is clear to us: we feel that we are in danger.

BIOLOGICAL SENSE

Overexcitation of the sympathetic system. Paralysis response to a reaction that we cannot carry out. Prevent movements that would put us in danger.

CONFLICT

Devaluation and lack of protection. Conflict of the invisible adversary against whom we cannot fight. “Not having made the necessary gesture to protect myself.” Fear of being forced to make a gesture that we cannot do.

There is a fear of not being in control of the situation, of not having an escape route in the face of danger.
