DomusVi opens its seventh residence in the Balearic Islands –

DomusVi has a new residential center in Palma, DomusVi Sa Riera. This is the group’s seventh residence in the Balearic Islands and offers 154 residential places for the elderly, which are cared for by a multidisciplinary team.

Domus Vi Sa Riera also offers places for people with neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s or other dementias, convalescent stays for rehabilitation after a cardiovascular accident, trauma or due to any other surgical intervention or disease. As stated Andreu SocíasCenter Director, “We are very excited about this new center that aims, together with the other DomusVi centers, respond to all dependency and care needs of the elderly. We offer quality services and we will share our professional experience with vocation and affection towards our elders”.

The DomusVi Sa Riera residence is located very close to the city center, combining the tranquility of the area and easy accessibility to city services. The building, located on Reverend Francesc Sitjar street, has been completely rehabilitated, and has 1,300 square meters of outdoor and landscaped areasas well as a gym and different rooms where you can carry out activities such as physiotherapy, rehabilitation or occupational therapy, among others.

It is the second center of the company with the largest offer of places on the Island of Mallorca and is a pioneer center in state-of-the-art technological equipment that promote comfort and maintenance of cognitive and physical capacity of the residents, encouraging active aging and social relations at all times.

In the day of presentation of this residence day were present Gregory MolinaGeneral Director of Dependency Assistance; Joan Antoni SalasGeneral Director of Social Welfare of the Palma City Council; fine santiagoCosellera d’Afers Socials i Esports; Xavier of JohnPresident of the IMAS, Sofia AlonsoInsular Director of Social Health Care, and Estefania Serratusellfrom Chronicity Care and Social Health Coordination of the Balearic Islands Health Service, who took a guided tour of the center’s facilities with the director of the center and members of the DomusVi management team.

During the visit, attendees had the opportunity to learn about the different spaces where the specific activities aimed at residents will take place. Among these activities are of great importance non-pharmacological therapies that contribute to reactivate sensations and memories, facilitate communication, social relations and autonomy, among others.

DomusVi is also in the news since it has just presented its Activity report and social responsibility report 2020. Throughout the pages of this document are summarized all projects and initiatives that were carried out in 2020, a year that was very different from all the previous ones and that has required the greater effort and dedication to guarantee the promotion and protection of the health and physical and emotional well-being of all residents and users, their families, as well as the rest of the workers.
