Digital Catalog of Social Services of Castilla y León – Catdiss

The challenge of the autonomous Government of Castilla y León has published the Digital Catalog of Social Services of Castilla y León (Catdiss), a tool that collects the resources where the benefits of the Social Services system are offered, who are the entities that provide them, where they do it, what characteristics they have and what are the requirements and conditions to access them.

The Catdiss tries to facilitate that all people who need it can access the social resources availableincluding those who have not yet accessed them and do not know that they can thus improve their quality of life and that of their families.

So, collect all resources where the benefits of the Social Services system of Castilla y León are offered, who are the entities that provide them, where they do it, what characteristics they have and what are the requirements and conditions to access them. “Total, includes 128 types of benefitswhich are those collected in the catalog of Social Services of Castilla y León, and of which 59% are essential, that is, they are a subjective right”highlighted the Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities, Elizabeth Whiteduring the presentation of this tool.

The new Catdiss digital catalog incorporates all the information from the more than 4,400 entities, 2,133 centers and 5,722 services that offer these 128 services in the catalog throughout the territory of Castilla y León online, that is, in real time, so it is a live catalogue, constantly updated. “All these entities, centers and services are subject to registration and authorization, that is, they are registered and authorized, thus guaranteeing the quality and suitability for the purpose they pursue”said Isabel Blanco.

The person in charge of the Social Services of Castilla y León stressed that, as specific and unique content, Catdiss collects all the resources that constitute the Family Protection Network, which has 102 associated entities, 1,439 services, 17 centers and 485 devices, noting that “The Network for the protection and inclusion of people and families in situations of greater social or economic vulnerability annually serves more than 174,000 families in our Community with an average cost of 220 million euros”.

575,000 people on average per year benefit from benefits

Castilla y León Cuenta is the Common System Autonomous Community that obtained the best rating in the development of social resources according to the latest DEC report. Around 575,000 people on average per year benefit from benefits offered by the Social Services system of the Junta de Castilla y León, with more than 1.5 million benefits and services, whose objective is to provide a adequate coverage of basic personal and social needsto promote the autonomy and well-being of people and ensure their right to live with dignity during all stages of their lives.

The Social Services system is complex due to the fragmentation of powers between the different administrations and by the large number of service providers, as well as the relationship mechanisms between administrations and between them and private actors. For this reason, it is essential, both for users and professionals, that the data be accurate in order to provide the intended care, as well as to reduce the time it takes to dispose of the resources.

In this sense, the complements the existing sources of information and centralizes it in a tool for both the general population and professionals. “This digital catalog represents a decisive step in improving information and its quality in relation to the benefits of the Social Services system available to citizens”highlights the Minister of Family, affirming, in addition, that “is one toset by transparency when collecting reliably, safely and completely the social resources of Castilla y León”. Catdiss also offers the possibility of directly accessing the electronic headquarters of the Junta de Castilla y León for electronic processing.

The creation of the new tool is part of the process of modernization of the Community’s social services and its new Dependency model 5.0which part of the need for bring social services closer to citizens and to offer them tools so that they know the resources that are available to them in an easy and accessible way.

“With Catdiss they will be able to find out about the resources, centers and services that are close to their home and geolocate them easily through the map of social resources that the new catalog includes”, explained Isabel Blanco. In turn, this innovative tool will allow a better coordination between professionalswhich may inform and refer users to the services they need based on their personal circumstances, offering them personalized attention, and informing them of the requirements for access or obtaining the benefit.
