The palliative care team of the Hospital Universitari Sant Joan de Reus is in charge of organizing a new edition of this congress, which will take place in the Fira de Reus on October 27 and 28, 2017.
Under the motto “From the molecule to the emotion”the organizing committee of the XII Conference of the Spanish Society of Palliative Care (Secpal) has been marked as a challenge delve into controversial issues and capture the attention of the different disciplines that this medical specialty welcomes. In this sense, it has been agreed that the papers to be presented within the framework of the Reus symposium will be structured around these four thematic axes:
- Pain associated with antitumor treatment.
- Bone pain.
- Aberrant use of opioids: from misuse to addiction.
- Caregivers and patients’ pain.
Likewise, Dr. Dulce Rodríguez Mesa, president of the organizing committee, has expressed her desire that the conferences of the adopt different formats – workshops, breakfasts, meetings, etc.- in order to facilitate the closeness and encounter of the attendees with the leading professionals who participate as speakers on the different topics of interest.
Finally, within the framework of the congress, a commercial exhibition will be held with the most advanced products and services for equipping units dedicated to palliative care.
