Are there bad and good emotions? – Comprehensive Health Coaching.

All emotions are good and necessary, there are no bad ones, you just have to understand that some are more pleasant than others. It is necessary to recognize and express them adequately to find personal balance.

It is said that some emotions are negative, but it is false, some make you feel well-being, and others, discomfort. But unpleasant emotions are also necessary, because well managed, they can help us protect our living space.

Anger, for example, like other unpleasant emotions, helps to set limits and defend one’s rights. The only bad thing about emotions is keeping them deeply.

In this sense, then, emotions such as joy, love or fun make us feel good, while others such as sadness, anger or fear cause discomfort. But keep in mind that all emotions are necessary for personal growth.

The human organism reacts and gives psychophysiological responses to real or imaginary stimuli, and each body reacts in a different way. The important thing is to learn to manage emotions so that they do not produce tension and unpleasant sensations.

Why are they called positive or negative?

Positive emotions are so named because they have the ability to generate feelings of pleasure, because they come from positive thoughts. These are more pleasant impressions to experience.

What are the most common positive emotions? The most noticeable are joy, tranquility, love, and tenderness, to name a few. By identifying them, the body expands, making us feel better.

On the contrary, when a person experiences emotions such as fear, sadness or anger, they feel tense, anguished, perhaps wanting to cry, which is why they are called negative. These unpleasant emotions cause the body to contract.

They are called negative, because these thoughts cause rejection. Commonly people seek to avoid these emotions, but they come without warning and hit hard, so it is better to learn to manage them.

All emotions play a role

All emotions, even the “negative” ones, play an essential role in life. For example, anger helps to set limits and express ideas with more force or firmness; fear protects the physical and emotional integrity of a person.

Sadness helps to accept losses and invites reflection, to then be able to renew energy. So, the important thing is to accept each emotion, pleasant or unpleasant, and analyze: why are you feeling it? What does your body want to tell you?

It is about identifying a positive intention in each emotion and managing it as quickly as possible, since the emotions that a person feels transmit a message, although not necessarily easy to decipher.

It is also important to understand that learning to manage emotions is important for personal well-being, however, it can also have an impact on the other people around you.

From this approach, the intensity with which you express your emotions will depend on how unpleasant they are or not for others. So, calmly express what is happening to you and find a balance.

Emotions must not be suppressed, on the contrary, we must try to understand the message they want to give us. The key is to learn to manage them so that they are not so unpleasant.
