Apparently the object appears that color thanks to the large vegetative biomass that lives on the surface of the island, giving it the appearance of a black hole. However, there was nothing strange about this site, the satellite image simply played a great and very fortuitous joke on Internet users.
Apparently the amount of weeds in the image in question is such that it completely obscures the center of the island. The reality is that there is nothing strange about this place, which we now know is uninhabited and is called Vostok. The small island is located in the central Pacific Ocean and is part of the Republic of Kiribati.
