A renewed ambulance fleet at the service of Asturians

Once again, Transinsa has fulfilled its promise and commitment to care for and ensure the well-being of Asturian society, always betting on technology and innovation. Following the renewal in 2021 of the contract with SESPA, the ambulance company has completed the renewal of 100% of the fleet intended to provide transfer services to the entire Asturian population for the next seven years. There are 43 conventional ambulances, 95 collective, 22 Basic Life Support and 10 Mobile UVI.

The great novelty in this new fleet is, without a doubt, the Advanced Life Support vehicle (Mobile UVI) that has radically changed its exterior design, providing more color for greater visibility on the road, as well as its interior, with important improvements in its bodywork and systems

It is the first box-type ambulance in Spain built entirely in aluminium, with two side sliding doors, which complies with the 10g crash test according to UNE 1789 and has a European approval password.

In addition, it has an electrical system that is controlled through four screens located in the driver’s cab, patient and side and rear door. This system, named CARLA, allows to control and manage air conditioning, lighting and oxygen installation digitally.

Another of the great novelties of this vehicle is its pneumatic suspension system that allows adjusting the height from the ground when stationary, which improves the ergonomics in the use of the stretcher by the Technicians in Sanitary Emergencies. It also provides greater comfort and limits the rolling of the moving ambulance.

Lastly, the new Mobile UVI has two cameras and a screen located in the rear-view mirror with which the driver can view what is happening in the patient’s cabin, which improves their response capacity in the event of any incident.
