Why do personal conflicts arise?

Personal conflicts are very human, but what are the main causes that produce them? In this article, I would like to share my reflections on this matter.

The desire to be right

Each human being lives his or her reality from his or her own point of view. The problem arises when, from that particular point of view, we make a single possible interpretation of reality. Sometimes untested hypotheses become true statements (subjectivity). The desire of wanting to be right is a frequent cause of distancing. A relationship involves establishing bridges and meeting points.

The fear of not being accepted

One of the most universal fears is the fear of loneliness. A fear that from a social point of view is reflected in the desire to please others and have friends. From the point of view of inner freedom, it is a sign of emotional strength to be yourself. That is, not falling into the constant slavery of wanting to receive the approval of others.

The fear of loneliness can also lead a person to maintain relationships that are not rewarding. When in reality, the greatest suffering is that which arises from being in company and feeling loneliness in the heart.

Not expressing feelings

There are people who, when they have a personal conflict, talk about the issue with complete clarity with a friend outside the conflict, but on the other hand, they do not talk with the same clarity with the person involved. Expressing your personal point of view to others is a necessary step to reach agreements, dialogue and open doors where pride becomes a barrier.

It is positive to look beyond that specific conflict to evaluate a relationship from a general point of view and thus make a more objective assessment.
