As an initial step you have to wash your hands, and in this case it is also advisable to use gloves for hygiene reasons. The process to follow is the following:
– First, while the person is lying on their back, the diaper is unbuttoned and the front part is rolled up towards the crotch.
– Afterwards, the patient is turned to one side, flexing the opposite knee on the side to which they are going to turn.
– Once placed on its side, the dirty diaper is rolled up, this time under the patient. Now, that the diaper no longer bothers, the toilet is done.
– In this same position, the new diaper is placed at hip height.
– Then the patient is turned to face the other side, for which the lateral twist is performed to the opposite side using the same technique.
– The dirty diaper is thrown away and the new one is placed well, stretching it.
– The person is placed back on their back and the stickers are adjusted.
