The Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS) has requested the withdrawal from the market of the covid-19 self-diagnosis tests manufactured by the Chinese pharmaceutical company Genrui Biotech and distributed in Spain by six companies, one of them based in Barcelona. They were being sold in communities like Asturias.
The decision responds to a possible increase in false positives, as indicated by the AEMPS this Saturday in a statement. The agency, which has also launched an investigation into this product, has opted for this measure after the Irish competent authority (HPRA) will inform you of a possible increase in false positives in the country.
In the case of Irelandthe authorities have also chosen to cease the sale of the product while the relevant investigation is carried out.
