The Vallparadís MútuaTerrassa Foundation manages the Can Serra Residence Hall

The Vallparadís MútuaTerrassa Foundation has assumed the management of the Can Serra Residence and Specialized Care Center (CAE) for people with disabilities, located in Hospitalet de Llobregat, thus increasing its presence in the area of ​​influence of the city of Barcelona.

Fundación Vallparadís MútuaTerrassa has been awarded the management of this center through a public tender and with this there are now six centers in the field of people with intellectual disabilities managed by the Vallparadís Foundation: Residence and CAE La Pineda (Terrassa), Residence and CAE Josep Mas y Dalmau (Sant Joan Despí), Residence and CAE Lo Tamariu (El Prat de Llobregat), Residence and CAE Montserrat Betriu (Barcelona) and Home Torrent de Lobos Residence (Martorell).

Located in the Can Serra district of Hospitalet de Llobregat, the Can Serra Residence and Specialized Care Center provides permanent or temporary residential care for people with intellectual disabilities who require widespread support and it has a total of 58 residence places, 30 of which are reserved for people with behavioral disorders, and 18 more day care places.

This residence is the twenty-third service managed by the Vallparadís Foundation and -as in the rest of the centers- the aim is to offer a high level of care quality and at the same time contribute all their experience and commitment to service to continue fully caring for the people who live there.

The aforementioned service replaces the home and offers comprehensive assistance to these people -with or without added mental health problems- who need help with the basic activities of daily living. Promote their independence in the social environment it is one of the priorities in terms of management and consequently care is provided at different levels, always according to the requirements of each person and with the purpose of improving their autonomy, quality of life and promoting their capacities as well as their empowerment.

The Casa Vapor Gran residence achieves accreditation in the Libera Care standard

In another order of things, the Vallparadís MútuaTerrassa Foundation is also in the news since the residence Casa Vapor Gran has received official accreditation in the Libera Care standard as a center without restraints in the maximum evaluation phase Libera Dignos.

This recognition represents a further step in the process of continuous improvement and in the integration of the Person-Centered Care (ACP) model in the centers managed by the Vallparadís Foundation, consolidating a new perspective in the way of caring that places priority the physical and moral integrity of the person. In this sense, the official accreditation in the Libera Care standard values ​​the work done by all professionals.

During the past year 2021, the residence delved into the four pillars that support the Libera Care Standard and the 71 indicators that make it up, focused on three levels of accreditation: Libera Ger (Phase I), Libera Quality of Life (Phase II) and Libera Dignos (Phase III), and at the end of the year it managed to gain accreditation, the first work standard that manages to measure the quality of life from its management in organizations dedicated to “have cure”.

Created in 1991, the has a trajectory of more than 30 years, and is specialized in the care for people with dependency and focuses on four aspects: older people, people with intellectual disabilities, mental health and socio-health activity.
