The Ministry of Equality and Inclusive Policies of the Valencian generalitat has opened a new call for grants from the Bono Respiro program for 2018 intended to finance different modalities of temporary or non-permanent stays in residences for the elderly. The direct beneficiaries of aid from the Respiro Bonus program 2018 they must be dependent peoplewho, being regularly cared for in their personal or family home, need temporary care in a specialized center due to presenting a level of dependency that makes them need the care of another person to carry out the usual activities of daily living, and who eventually, they cannot be provided by their usual caregiver.
The amount of the subsidy, which will be expressed in each voucher, will be determined by the difference between what the beneficiary can contribute from his income and the cost of the stay he requests existing three modalities of the Respite Bonus:
- He Monthly or Green Bond It consists of a stay for one month when, due to health or social needs, the elderly person needs comprehensive care in a specialized center.
- He Respite Days Bonus or Blue Bonus It consists of 20 daily vouchers for care in residences for the elderly that may be paid for 20 consecutive or grouped days, in which case the minimum will be two consecutive days.
- And lastly, the Weekend Respite Bonus or White Bonus, which consists of 12 vouchers for the weekends that the interested party chooses. They can be enjoyed in a schedule that is established from 9 am on Friday until 5 pm on Sunday.
In all modalities, the dates and the center will be chosen by the interested party, and the term for the stays will take place prior to the end of the calendar year of the corresponding call.
Applications can be submitted at the territorial address of the Ministry of Equality and Inclusive Policies of the applicant’s province. The deadline for submitting applications will be 1 month, counted from the day following the publication of the resolution in the Generalitat Valenciana Official Newspaper number 8217, of 01.22.2018.
The requirements to access the are the following:
- Be 65 years of age or older at the time of submitting the application and have ceased work or professional activity due to retirement or disability.
- People 55 years of age or older diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias may also be beneficiaries.
- Be registered in any of the municipalities of the Valencian Community.
- Be considered a dependent person, accredited by the corresponding medical report.
- Accredit the social and economic need in accordance with the established criteria.
- Exceptionally and in order to maintain the family unit, people over or under 65 years of age who can prove one of the following situations may request joint entry with the main applicant: being a spouse or common-law partner duly registered in the Administrative Registry of De facto Unions of the Valencian Community; be disabled living with the applicant and as long as they enter the same residential center as the applicant. For these purposes, those defined as such by Royal Legislative Decree 1/2013, of November 29, which approves the Consolidated Text of the General Law on the rights of persons with disabilities and their social inclusion, and who have a degree of disability equal to or greater than 65%.
