Person-Centered Care, whose objective is to accompany each resident in carrying out their personal life project, is the key concept of the new ‘Residences with meaning’. Under this care model, the Bidealde socio-sanitary center has been inaugurated, located in Cizur Menor (Navarra).
On Tuesday, June 1, the inauguration ceremony of the Bidealde socio-health centermanaged by the IDEA group and whose construction began in June 2019. It is the first center of the care model ‘residences with meaning‘ located in Navarre. It has a capacity of 176 seats distributed in eight mini-residences with 22 beds each and will employ, when fully operational, more than 110 professionals among medical, physiotherapy and nursing staff, assistants, psychologist, social worker and occupational therapist, among others. Currently, it has a staff of 28 people.

During the inauguration ceremony of the center, Rafael Sanchez-OstizCEO of , I emphasize that Bidealde is a project that values the elderly, residents, families and workers, who are involved in improving the quality of life of the people served. In addition, he stressed that this center unites innovation and knowledge of the entire IDEA team, which will materialize in the creation of the first ‘Aging Lab’ from Navarre with tradition, recovering the model of the old hospitals and inns that mark the Camino de Santiago. This, moreover, is accompaniment symbol carried out by the Bidealde team with the people cared for at the center, living their life project and personal development with them.

And in this sense, the Minister of Social Rights of the Government of Navarra, Carmen Maeztustressed the need to provide older people “not only quality care but also love and emotional support necessary when health is diminished or unwanted loneliness takes its toll”. The Bidealde socio-health center presents several differential elements. The first of them, the care model ‘Residences with meaning‘which aims accompany each resident in discovering the meaning of their life and the realization of his personal project. In this sense, he proposes for each one of them a series of individualized activities and significant that allow fill your day to day with meaning spending time on what allows them to achieve a full and quality life.
The conception of spaces is also different, because thanks to the small living units (22 residents in each of them), these become homes that favor the socialization and personalization of care. In this sense, the center is committed to a portfolio of comprehensive geriatric social and health serviceseither in a residential regime or in temporary rehabilitative or outpatient stays.
Finally, Bidealde is a thematic center of the Camino de Santiagoin which the locations, decoration and work materials revolve around the metaphor of the Way of Life. This philosophy also provides the figure of the ‘companion on the way‘, which is the professional that the center makes available to each person upon entering so that become your companion, providing you with the necessary support and resources to elaborate and put into practice their life project.
