(PDF) Parental violence: Main characteristics, risk factors and keys to intervention

Parental violence is an increasingly evident problem in social, health and judicial protection systems that, however, continue to present gaps regarding its main characteristics and those of those involved, predisposing factors and effective interventions.

However, there is consensus regarding its devastating consequences. This bibliographic review focuses on analyzing the problem of VP with the aim of providing data that serves as a tool for future research and intervention proposals.

In particular, the article defines IPV and its types, provides data on prevalence, as well as the main characteristics of abusive children and abused parents, and discusses the main individual, family, school and community risk factors.
