When I was little I ate terribly, my mother suffered with me what is not written… 🙁 And now that I am a mother of three, I pity her because I understand how bad it is when your child doesn’t try anything. But I am clear that I don’t want to eat anything either. that the moment of eating becomes suffering for them, as I remember… It was time to eat and I got stressed because I knew it would end in screams from my poor desperate mother.
My eldest daughter is 6, and my youngest is 2, I am infinitely lucky, they eat and try everything… And in their case it seems super valid when they decide that they don’t like something… but first they try it…
But the medium of 5… just milk… almost nothing else… didn’t taste anything at all. I try not to get overwhelmed, I know he is healthy, because the pediatrician tells me so… But I consider part of his education to learn and dare to try new things.
I decided to do the opposite of what my mother did, and make trying things fun and challenging.
And the truth is that at least I don’t know if it’s because of the novelty, but I’ve gotten him to try green beans and chickpeas… I feel like I’ve won the World Cup.
