At present, studies have been carried out that prove that the physical well-being of the mother is as important as her emotional health. Mental stability and having a stress-free pregnancy, in which emotions are mostly positive, translates into better development of the baby inside and outside the womb.

The Sense Project is related to what happens around the conception of a child. There is no conception if there is not previously a desire, a project of the parents, which can remain totally unconscious. The biological fact of the sexual act is not enough to explain a conception: there are women who want to have a child and do not get pregnant, while others get pregnant without wanting to. The same goes for artificial insemination: some work, some don’t, and the cause is unknown.

Emotions are learned from the womb: Although the fetus has no notion of emotions as we know them, they have a sensory impact on it. “When negative emotions overwhelm us, we secrete toxic hormones, the heart races and the immune system is depressed, leaving us more vulnerable to diseases”, mentions Enrique García, professor of psychology at UNED.

Babies are able to sense the psychological state of the mother: “We believe that human fetuses are active participants in their own development and are collecting information for their own lives.”says Dr. Curt A. Sandman. He adds that children are able to recognize and interpret the mother’s feelings and mood while in the womb. So prolonged states of sadness can lead to slow development; on the other hand, happiness and emotional tranquility usually have a positive impact.

The analysis of the Sense Project requires taking into account the temporal dimension (a period from nine months before conception to three years after birth) and the structural dimension (the child is transmitted, consciously and unconsciously, the entire family history).

Everything that happens in the family environment during that period of time conditions its structure, because wishes are projected onto the future child (that he be a doctor, soccer player or president) and fears are also projected (that he be an alcoholic like dad or drug addict like the brother-in-law).

There are studies that show that events in the lives of parents prior to conception influence the mind and body of the child. In the final stages of egg and sperm maturation, the activity of specific genes that will shape the child is adjusted through a process called “genomic imprinting.” At birth, two copies (or alleles) of each gene are inherited. In some cases, the same copy (the same allele) is expressed differently depending on whether it comes from the father or the mother. The regulation in the expression (silencing) of some genes can produce syndromes and diseases.

During pregnancy, the mother begins to establish emotional bonds with the embryo. These bonds are affected by a series of personal, family and environmental factors. Various independent studies show that, during pregnancy, women live in a special state of psychic and emotional sensitivity, in which memories of their own childhood reappear, allowing them to imagine what their baby’s childhood will be like. If her childhood was pleasant, the affective bond occurs naturally. But, if her childhood was marked by abandonment, abuse or neglect, unresolved conflicts are reborn during pregnancy.

This influence leads to reproducing situations experienced in the family environment, either by simple duplication, that is, by repetition history (such as a woman whose father abandoned her mother when she was little and then the same thing happens to her), either for opposition (the mother is abandoned and the daughter does not marry or have children to avoid experiencing this situation).

On other occasions, this influence leads to repairing the family history, although fix is not synonymous with sort out. Family history conditions aspects of one’s life, limiting the margin of choice (for example, the son of bankrupt parents becomes an accountant, although he is not passionate about that profession).

The mother and the child are fused from conception until two or three years of the child’s life.. The baby is built in the representation system of the mother’s spirit: everything that the mother feels, worries or rejects, everything that she has relegated to the shadow is experienced as her own by the child.

“The shadow” is an expression from Jung’s psychology that designates these unknown parts of the psyche. As a woman takes charge of her own shadow, she frees her child from the manifestation of said shadow.

The Sense Project makes it possible to determine which structuring conflicts are associated with the symptom or diseaseby identifying the emotional conflicts experienced by their parents (mainly the mother) from nine months before their conception to three years of age.

We have many Heartfelt Projects: some conscious, many unconscious, some fascinating, others limiting. They can express themselves in the profession, relationships, friends, couples, etc.; and they can condition behaviors or be the cause of symptoms and diseases.

There are also specific techniques to heal and free ourselves of the meaning project inherited from our parents. This is one of the themes that we work on in our RENACER workshop, a personal integral healing program, where we also see transgenerational inheritance, the body-mind relationship according to biodecoding, and all the themes and tools to achieve holistic healing.

Getting to know the Sense Project gives us the opportunity to become aware of and heal these conflicts, both in oneself and in our children.
