Korian closes the acquisition of Grupo 5 specialized in mental health

After obtaining the necessary regulatory and antitrust authorizations, the Korian group, a French company specializing in care services for elderly and dependent people, has successfully completed the purchase process of the Spanish mental health company Grupo 5.

In line with Korian’s strategy to develop its healthcare activities, this acquisition is a further step forward in its European expansion in the mental healthcare segment. With some expected revenue of 330 million euros in 2023 generated in France, Spain and Italy, Korian is the third European player in this market.

Grupo 5, specialized in mental health services, begins a new stage with Korian as the sole shareholder

Following the acquisition of Ita Salud in 2021, Korian is consolidating its mental health services platform in Spain with 77 centers located in 14 regions. According to data from this company, the Spanish mental health market is estimated at around 2,500 million eurosand it should grow by c.4% per year in the next 5 years, driven by the current deficit of supply compared to demand.
