Images of nature that resemble the settings of classic stories (PHOTOS)

Many of the classic tales, whose roots were somewhat macabre stories, were created in the Nordic countries. Due to the above, aspects such as fairies or gnomes commonly appear; also the castles and the fog. All these landscapes were imprinted in the collective subconscious as mythical and dreamlike settings, surrounded by halos of fantasy.

Beyond the cliché of fairy tales, many Nordic landscapes are truly enchanting: they give the impression of being spaces located at the top of the Earth, where the secrets of existence are discovered and it seems that one has contact with a mystical revelation.

To group real images that commemorate these fabulous settings in the same series, the German photographer Kilian Schönberger has traveled through the lands that remember the tales of the Brothers Grimm and has created the series “Brothers Grimm Wanderings”. It is a vestige of sites that seemed destined to become part of a mythology, whether or not the writers who made them legendary had been their precursors.
