/p>The residence and day center Zorrozgoitilocated in the Bilbao neighborhood of Zorroza and integrated into the social infrastructure network of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, has just opened its doors.
Managed by (IMQ Group) its implementation has meant a investment of 11.5 million euros and with its opening, Bilbao sees its capacity to assist the elderly strengthened thanks to the 140 residential beds and 30 day center placesthat the complex has.
This new residence, which is already welcoming the first users, has 100 single rooms and 20 double rooms, all of them with their own geriatric bathroom. The rooms are distributed in six modules of differentiated attention depending on the characteristics and needs of the residents. In total there are more than 9,000 m2 built, with a ratio of habitability per resident of more than 60 m2, in a clear commitment to the well-being of users.
The Igurco’s new residence It has among its infrastructures a rehabilitation gym, its own kitchen, laundry, hairdresser, funeral home and specific facilities for health care, in order to provide highly specialized care.
Other services that the center has are comprehensive personal care, health care, psychological care, rehabilitation to daily activities of daily life, catering services, sociocultural revitalization, social assistance, support for family members of users, hygiene service , physiotherapy and rehabilitation, etc.
As stated Santiago Channelsmanaging director of , “This center is a response to the needs of a large number of elderly people and families in Bilbao and an improvement in their quality of life”.
The percentage of beds dedicated to concerted places with the Provincial Council of Bizkaia it is 80% and the start-up of this center has allowed the generation of 80 direct and indirect jobs.
On the other hand, the center represents a further step in the Igurco’s strategy to deepen the collaboration with the Provincial Council of Bizkaia for the development of social infrastructures for the care of the elderly. And it is that, in addition to this new residence, Igurco manages for the Diputación bilbozaranother center in the Bilbao La Vieja neighborhood that has 137 beds and a day center with a capacity for 50 beds, as well as another residence in the center of Amorebieta, called Jose Maria Azkunaand which has 112 public and private parking spaces.
