In Colombia you can now use swimming pools, but following the recommendations given by the National Government. The consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited inside and in complementary areas or zones.
If you plan to use them, it is important that you keep the following in mind:
The provisions issued by the Ministry of Health apply to:
- Pools for collective use open to the public, such as those in vacation and recreational centers, schools, entities or associations, hotels, motels or similar.
- Restricted use pools: located in private clubs, condominiums or residential complexes.
- Single-family property swimming pools.
- Swimming pools for special use, for example, thermal therapeutics and others determined by the health authority.
– It is important to note that people with the flu will not be able to enter the pools and the establishment must have the necessary infrastructure to apply the established measures, otherwise the service will not be enabled. The Health Secretariats must monitor compliance with the protocol.
– In addition, they must provide a cleaning and disinfection area for hands and shoes with 60% glycerinated alcohol, disposable towels and face masks. People’s temperatures must also be taken and separated with physical barriers, framing and marking the service, living and bathroom areas, to maintain a distance of two meters between users and employees.
– Regarding the permitted capacity, this will be determined according to the total capacity of the pool and whether it is in a closed or open area.
– The use of face masks will be mandatory and can only be removed when bathers wish to enter the water. At that moment, they must be kept in a bag so that when they leave, they can continue using it.
– Swimming instructors must use masks, masks or any facial protection element that allows the development of activities and users must permanently wear the mask, covering the nose and mouth. When entering the water it should be stored in a bag, to be used again when leaving the pool.
– The consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited in the pools, adjoining areas or complementary areas.
– In the case of workers in these establishments, administrators must provide aquatic face masks to lifeguards. This is for individual use and must be disinfected before and after use.
– In addition, they must be provided with the devices required to carry out rescue and rescue maneuvers. Mouth-to-mouth resuscitation is prohibited.
