HelpAge Spain and the Fundación Grandes Amigos have joined as Adherent Partners to the Platform for the Elderly and Pensioners (PMP), the most representative movement at the state level for the defense of the elderly and pensioners before public and private powers and the set of the society. These entities join the 15,079 associations and more than 5,746,000 members that the PMP represents.
HelpAge Spain and Great friends, both entities are committed to the well-being of the elderly. Regarding the first, it is part of the global HelpAge International network that includes 158 organizations from 86 countries. The objective of this entity is to help older people to claim their rights and so face to the discrimination and get over the poverty. All this, in order to enjoy a quality life.
On the other hand, they highlight the initiatives that are carried out political advocacy, training and sensitization to build a friendly and sensitive society at all levels with the reality of the elderly and their rights. Besides, network nationally and internationally to achieve the creation of an international UN Convention on the rights of older persons.
Thanks to these adhesions, the entities join the 15,079 associations and more than 5,746,000 affiliates represented by the Platform for the Elderly and Pensioners (PMP)
On the other hand, the Great Friends Foundation is a non-profit entity that youwork for avoid that of the elderly by volunteering and defend the rights of this group trying to involve the whole society: public administrations, private companies, civil society and citizens.
Some of the programs that develops are:

- He affective accompaniment with volunteers and neighborhood support networks
- The socialization activities
- The training
- The impact measurement
- The awareness against ageisms and for a dignified old age
