Amavir La Gavia opens its doors in the Ensanche de Vallecas

The Amavir La Gavia residence for the elderly, located in the Ensanche de Vallecas in the city of Madrid, has just opened its doors. It is a 138-bed center that offers all the comforts and attention to the elderly and dependent people, with the aim of making them feel at home.

Located at Avenida del Mayorazgo number 14, this new center in Amavir, run by Maria Vazquezhas an area of ​​about 6,700 square meters and has rooms dedicated to activities and care for residents (gym, medical and nursing offices, occupational therapy, psychology, library, kitchen, hairdresser…).

Amavir La Gavia has a total of 114 rooms (90 of them singles and 24 doubles), which are spread over different independent living unitsin each of which will reside around 20 people, with its own living room and dining room.

With this structure, it is sought that in each module lives people with health conditions or similar characteristics, which facilitates better adaptation and care by professionals and a more personalized follow-up. One of those modules is specialized in people with Alzheimer’s and other types of severe dementias. All rooms have their own endowment of adapted furniture and geriatric bathroombut they can be decorated to suit the residents with their personal belongings if they wish.

The residence offers permanent and also temporary stays (respite for relatives, convalescence, rehabilitation…). From an architectural point of view, design and material measures have been taken to achieve the highest levels of sound insulation and maximum energy efficiency.

A care model to meet the needs of each resident

As in the rest of the Amavir centers, and with the aim of meeting the individual needs of each resident, the residential care model has been implemented in this new Madrid residence based on give visibility to the elderly person who needs accompaniment during this period of his life, conditioning the environment according to his indications, so that he has the opportunity to feel at home.
