The Border Collie is an absolutely beautiful breed of dog, who are often assign them tasks related to herding, having its origin in countries such as England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales.
It is popular above all for its physiognomy and variety of its coat, the colors of the Border Collie being very broad, as it happens, and all of them are accepted by the FCI, with the exception of white alone.

Without a doubt, this is one of the best-known Border Collies. The combination of black and white fur is produced completely irregularly and without any other additional tone.

It is called this way, since you can see a bluish tone in some parts of its fur, which is due to the fading of the black color. It is important to note that until some time ago it was not accepted in the breed.

It is quite similar to the blue merle Border Collie, however, another color is added, which is cream or light brown. The dominant color is gray and there is no specific pattern for any of its shades.

In this Border Collie, black is seen as the most abundant color, however, it is diluted and leaves gray tones as a result. White also makes an appearance in a regular pattern, occupying part of the face, neck, chest, legs, tail and abdominal area.
Border Collie slate or slate merle
In this case we are talking about a Border Collie where the black color is much more diluted than in the previous one, which is why more nuances are seen throughout its coat. On a general level, it appears lighter than the Border Collie slate, and it is worth highlighting the fact that its eyes tend to be blue or dark gray.
Lilac Border Collie
Due to the brown color pattern, this Border Collie has a lilac coloration throughout almost its entire coat. Although sometimes it can be perceived as brown or cream-colored, and is accompanied by some white areas.

Unlike the lilac Border Collie, in the lilac merle Border Collies the lilac is much more noticeable. Likewise, they have an irregular distribution of shades, which vary between white, brown, lilac and grayish.
Australian Red Border Collie or Ee-red
There is something very particular about these Border Collies, and that is that they are subdivided into Ee-red black, Ee-red blue, Ee-red chocolate and Ee-red lilac. This is because it can have different base colors, which are just below the blonde tones that are identified at first glance. To determine the specific subclass, the application of a genetic test is required.
White Border Collie
As we indicated at the beginning, this is the only Border Collie that is not accepted by the FCI. It is important to specify that their total white color is due to the crossing of two merles, this makes them considered albinos and, in turn, causes multiple health problems, such as blindness and heart conditions. That is why the crossing of these classes has been prohibited.
