The Emotions Wheel is designed to help people recognize the source of their emotions. It is made up of an inner circle that indicates the six biological emotions, which we share with mammals. The outer rings contain names of the secondary and tertiary emotions that we manifest related to the biological ones. These secondary and tertiary emotions are exclusively human and we also call them psychological feelings or emotions.

The wheel has proven to be helpful for people to identify, express, generate, and change emotions. Self love and emotional maturity is having a clear position in front of our emotions.

It is a very useful tool to identify the specific feelings and emotions that we are experiencing at a particular moment in order to face and resolve them.

THERE ARE TWO MAIN WAYS TO USE THE WHEEL:

THE FIRST it is simply using it to identify what you are currently feeling, and going in or out to dig deeper and discover associated feelings, so that you can better understand your current mental and emotional state. You can use this way to explore deep and long-lasting emotions that may be impacting your life.

For example, if when you see the wheel you identify that you have been feeling sad for a long time, perhaps for months or even years, since you separated from your partner, starting from the biological emotion root of sadness, you can go outside and try to discover the emotions more With detailed insights into what you’re feeling, you may find that more specifically you’re feeling lonely and withdrawn, and you can begin to do something about it.

THE SECOND One way to use it is: once you figure out what it is that you specifically feel, you can look at the opposite end of the positive emotion that you probably want and need to experience.

For example, if you find yourself feeling insane and angry, by looking at the contrary emotions you may discover your unconscious need to feel peaceful and loving, and as you seek new relationships and activities, these will be the emotions you will seek to experience. .
