The government said that it is “a specific and momentary measure”
At a press conference at Government House, the official pointed out that it is a measure that is taken while the national government “is having to take charge of Argentina’s largest negotiation with the IMF for the largest debt that was taken on” during the administration of Mauricio Macri.

It will be possible to continue traveling, in some cases we will have to wait a few months, in other cases it will be possible to finance it in another way with a credit card, but it seems that, as some opposition leaders say, they are trying to install an idea and we are talking about something else,” he said.
“Financial and non-financial entities issuing credit cards must not finance in installments the purchases made through credit cards by their clients – human and legal persons – of tickets abroad and other tourist services abroad (such as accommodation, rental car, etc.), whether carried out directly with the service provider or indirectly, through a travel and/or tourism agency, web platforms or other intermediaries,” said the central bank in the document.
