The IMSERSO-COCEMFE 2014 Vacation Program grows in places and destinations –

/p>The Spanish Confederation of People with Physical and Organic Disabilities (COCEMFE) has expanded its Vacation Program IMSERSO-COCEMFE 2014 to allow more people to enjoy their leisure time on equal terms and/or alleviate their ailments on trips to spas, promoting their integration and autonomy in first-class destinations.

The expansion of the program, financed by the and , will take place in the spring of 2015 and is expected to travel 592 people in a total of 14 vacation shifts with destinations to beaches, islands and thermalism, of which four trips will be during the Easter holidays.
Thanks to this expansion, the program has new destinations, such as Chiclana de la Frontera (Cádiz), Tossa de Mar (Girona), Maspalomas (Gran Canaria), as well as two new hotels in Benidorm and Almuñécar. In addition, there will be other two “special COCEMFE” trips in which anyone can participate, regardless of whether they have traveled or will travel with the IMSERSO-COCEMFE 2014 Program.
As stated by the president of , mario garcia“COCEMFE’s Accessible Tourism Area develops this program by studying the accessibility of each destination in situ beforehand, to ensure the enjoyment of leisure and free time for all participating people, ensuring that the accommodations, environments and activities are free of barriers”.
In addition, the IMSERSO-COCEMFE Vacation Program facilitates accessible holidays people with physical and organic disabilities who find it more difficult to travel, either because of low income or a high degree of disability, with the average degree of participants in the program in 2014 standing at 65%.
A total of 2,133 people have traveled with COCEMFE in 2014 in the 51 vacation shifts made, 9 of them “COCEMFE Specials”. In addition, more than 60 people residing in IMSERSO centers have participated in this year’s shifts, providing them with special transportation from their own residence. Since the program’s inception 28 years ago, more than 32,000 people have benefited from accessible tourisminclusive and normalizing.
The Spanish Confederation of People with Physical and Organic Disabilities (COCEMFE) brings together more than 1,600 organizations divided into Autonomous Confederations, State Entities and Provincial Federations which, in turn, bring together the different local associations.
