The CRE Alzheimer offers 21 training courses this year

The courses scheduled this year by the Imserso State Reference Center for the care of people with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias in Salamanca address issues related to psychological and behavioral symptoms, palliative care, nutrition and resilience in family caregivers of people with Alzheimer’s, among others. Eleven of them will be online and 10 face-to-face.

This training plan is part of the strategic lines of Imserso related to the promotion of innovation, research, dissemination and teaching of care model for the elderly and groups in a situation or risk of dependency.

Face-to-face courses

The face-to-face courses, taught by professionals from the center, are intended to update and increase the knowledge of all the agents involved in improving the quality of life of people with dementia, both theoretically and practically.

Thus, issues related to psychological and behavioral symptoms, palliative care, nutrition and resilience in family caregivers of people with Alzheimer’s, among others, are addressed. Likewise, seminars related to different non-pharmacological therapiessuch as music therapy and dog-assisted intervention.

Courses in online format

The online courses are intended for caregivers, family members and people interested in Alzheimer’s and other dementias to learn the most important aspects of the as well as the main problems that caregivers face.

In this way, the planned online actions will focus on the neuropsychological evaluation in dementia, the overload in care tasks, the for the prevention of falls, robot therapy in dementia, emotional intelligence or social aspects in Alzheimer’s disease.
