Pastel colors have a type of nuance that is characterized by being much lighter than conventional ones.
They have a low saturation, sometimes intermediate, which is achieved by adding a medium to large portion of white.
What are pastel colors?
All the colors within it have their version in pastel colors, so achromatic colors, such as black, gray and white, are excluded.
For this reason, the names of the colors are used by adding the word pastel to any of them, as we will see in the following examples:
- pastel pink
- Pastel blue
- Pastel green
Although there are other colors to which this word is not added at the end, because their natural tone is pastel, like these:

Pastel colors are used to decorate spaces to a large extent, providing clarity to the walls, since they are not strong.
They are also typical in children’s rooms or areas because of the softness they add visually, generating comfort and tranquility.
They have been implemented in fashion garments, with some shades being more trendy than others depending on the season, to reflect harmony.
In addition, they are used in art designs, for example, in illustrative drawings and in hand-painted decorative figures.
