A clinical study conducted by the Hospital Juan Ramón Jiménez de Huelva confirmed that one hundred percent Iberian acorn-fed ham is beneficial for cardiovascular health by increasing the plasmatic concentration of cgood cholesterol and reduce bad cholesterol levels significantly.

The study included 106 healthy people between the ages of 25 and 55 who included 40 grams of acorn-fed ham in their daily diet and, then, another eight weeks, in which they followed their usual diet. Thus, it was found that the consumption of ham did not raise cardiovascular risk and that, in addition, it had positive effects on different lipids and uric acid.
