INVERTED APPLE CAKE WITHOUT oven (Apple pie in a skillet)

What do we need?

For the 1st part

  • 75g. of butter
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3 apples
  • 1 handful of walnuts

For the mass

  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 75g. melted butter
  • 1/3 cup of milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup of water

Step by Step

  • Put the butter, sugar and cinnamon (ingredients from the first part) over medium heat in a frying pan. Stir until the butter melts and combines with the sugar.
  • Add the apples, peeled and cut into segments, in the shape of a “carriage” over the sugar and butter mixture. Don’t you understand me correctly? That’s why I make a video for you guys. Cover and let cook for 10 minutes over medium heat.
  • Meanwhile, make the dough: mix the cinnamon, flour and sugar (second part ingredients) in a bowl. Add the melted butter, milk, beaten egg and water. Mix well until everything is united and organized.
  • Once the 10 minutes had passed for the apples, I opened the lid and slowly poured the cake mixture on top. Try to cover everything well, but if it’s not perfect, nothing happens.
  • Cover, lower the heat to minimum and leave on the stove for about 20 minutes, half an hour, until you feel that the dough is cooked to the touch or until you insert a toothpick into it and it comes out dry, like any cake.
