Find out where the protected animal species live in Mexico with this map

In Mexico there are at least 2,500 species protected by law. Illegal trafficking and environmental deterioration are the main reasons why they are threatened, especially in the last 50 years.

This country is among the five most diverse; It has, for example, the largest number of types of hummingbirds, it has the first place in diversity of reptiles and surprisingly it is the second in mammals, with 448 species.

Knowing this diversity is in some way honoring this land and for this it is important, from time to time, to dedicate a few minutes to reacquaint ourselves with data and information about its diversity and about the diversity in the different regions of the world (this online database can be very useful for this).

To generate more knowledge about the protected species in Mexico, the magazine México Desconocido has created a simple map that illustrates where these species live. You will find some whose presence in the country you most likely did not know about. This is a good start to start taking care of them.

You can see the map in more detail here.
