Dr. Magda Campins has achieved the ACRA 2021 Award for the best professional career, a unanimous recognition of the jury of these awards for her work in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Magda Campins, physician and epidemiologistUntil recently, she was the Head of the preventive medicine and epidemiology service at the Vall d’Hebron University Hospital, the center that has treated the most Covid-19 patients during the pandemic. She is currently a member of the research group in Epidemiology and Public Health of the Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR).

Their cooperation with ACRA, the Catalan Association of Assistance Resources, during this period has been decisive for expand knowledge about the virus and the disease in an area that serves one of the most fragile and vulnerable groups in our society.

In this sense, it is worth highlighting the research project “Natural history of the Covid-19 disease in the environment of nursing homes in Catalonia. An observational study on aggregate data”a pioneering research study coordinated by the Dr. Benito Admiral, member of the infectious diseases service of the Vall d’Hebron University Hospital, and with the active participation of ACRA, which has contributed to giving scientific evidence regarding the impact of Covid-19 in residential centers for the elderly.

On the other hand, it has carried out communicative actions aimed at the group of associates and the sector, where it has disseminated the importance of vaccination to combat the virus and as the main protection measure for the population as a whole.
