The basic classification of colors is divided into three groups, such as primary colors, secondary colors and tertiary colors.
The reason why colors are classified in this way is because of what they are mainly characterized by and how they are obtained.
Primary colors
The colors or the so-called pure colors are differentiated by not coming from the mixture of other colors, which are only yellow, blue and red.
Secondary colours
The colors are so called because they are the result of combining two of the primary colors, so they are only orange, green and purple.
- Red + Yellow = Orange
- Yellow + Blue = Green
- Blue + Red = Purple
Tertiary colors
Colors are generated by the union of a primary color and a secondary color that is specifically next to the primary color on the color wheel.
- Red + Orange = Oranged Red
- Yellow + Orange = Yellow orange
- Blue + Green = Greenish blue
- Red + Purple = Violet Red
- Yellow + Green = Greenish yellow
- Blue + Purple = Violet Blue
Quaternary colors?
Colors are considered those that come from the mixture between two of the same tertiary colors, although they are not used for the basic classification of colors.
