Castilla y León raises the economic amounts of Dependency by 6%

The Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities of the Junta de Castilla y León has published an order in the Official Gazette of Castilla y León by which an increase of 6% on average in the amounts of the Dependency economic benefits is effective, which At present they have recognized some 77,000 people in this Community.

Specifically, the increase in these amounts linked to the Dependency is 6.2% on average in the provision linked to the service and in personal assistance, and 5.8% in that of care in the family environment. With this measure, the department that directs Elizabeth White aims to alleviate the general increase in the cost of products and services and compensate the most vulnerable groups, who need support to carry out activities of daily life.

The provision linked to the service It is an economic aid destined to the payment of residential care services, day care or home help, while that of personal assistant facilitates the contracting of this specific service that favors the exercise of a life that is as autonomous as possible. In both cases, the amount is set based on the combination of various factorssuch as the maximum amounts in force at any time, the economic capacity of the user and their degree of dependency.

With the modification of the calculation formulas reflected in the order of the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities, the maximum amounts for 2022 in relation to both benefits –which are the reference ones for users with reduced economic capacity–, they are set at:

  • 965.34 euros for large dependents (grade III)
  • 788.32 euros for grade II
  • 405 euros for those of grade I

It is about some figures significantly higher than those established in the state framework. In fact, grade I and III dependents who are entitled to the maximum amount of the linked benefit or personal assistance receive in Castilla y León 35% more than what the Government of Spain establishes, which should be paid as a minimum ( 300 and 715.07 euros, respectively), while those assigned to grade II are 85% higher than the state ones (426.12 euros).

For her part, the economic provision of care in the family environment Its purpose is to contribute to the coverage of expenses derived from the care of people with dependency in their own home by a family member or someone close to them, who are not linked to a professional care service, and provided that adequate conditions of coexistence and habitability of the dwelling.

As in the case of the two aids mentioned above, its amount depends on the maximum amounts in force at any given time, the economic capacity of the interested party and their degree of dependency. In this way, the dependent persons to whom the maximum amounts correspond to finance this support in the Community in 2022 will receive 430.28 euros if they have recognized grade III; 298.36 euros for grade II and 169.83 euros for grade I. These magnitudes are also the 11% higher than those set at the state levelwhich amount to 387.64 euros, 268.79 euros and 153 euros for grades III, II and I, respectively.

Modification of the procedure for the recognition of the situation of dependency

The Junta de Castilla y León has also approved another order of the which in this case modifies the procedure for the recognition of the situation of dependency to adapt it to the most recent state regulations.

The main novelty has to do with the priority status given to the processing of files in which there is a technical assessment of social urgency or special vulnerability due to unforeseen causes or lack of support, which may lead to a situation of helplessness or serious risk to physical or mental integrity of the applicant.

The norm determines that this preferential processing will also be applied in other cases. For example, for the access to residential places in social health convalescence units of a public nature and the corresponding subsequent provision when, after discharge, the person continues to need support adapted to their new degree of dependency; or to cases in which the Administration must provide urgent support to people with disabilities who lack a de facto guardian, in accordance with the new Law 8/2021 of June 2, which reforms civil and procedural legislation to support people with disabilities in the exercise of their legal capacity.
