Be very careful when eating a banana: diarrhea, nausea and vomiting repeatedly

Recently, a known batch of was withdrawn from the market by the Ministry of Health for causing health problems for many people. Customers who ingested these bananas repeatedly experienced symptoms of diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting.

The reason? An antifungal agent called thiabendazole, in amounts of 0.2 milligrams, especially in the fruit from the Canary Islands and South America. Initially, bananas are usually imported still immature, bright green in color.

However, if you see any specks on the skin, it means that the banana has exceeded the ripening limit and could be dangerous for the body.

So what color of bananas should you buy?

The bananas that arrive from South America usually arrive at our supermarkets green, so that they ripen slowly and locally, without risking throwing away entire hulls.

But what color should they be when we buy them? Precisely because ripening could pose certain health risks, especially due to the presence of pesticides, bananas must be bought green or only yellow.

Bananas should ripen at room temperature, out of the fridge, as slowly as in nature. If, on the other hand, you prefer to slow down the ripening of the bananas, you should put them in the refrigerator. It is impossible to give up one of the most popular and tasty tropical fruits imported from South America or Spain.
