You have to live before you die –

We are all certain that we are going to die and yet it is important to continually remember that life is a gift and a responsibility. Approaching death for a moment is at the same time approaching life. We can ask ourselves, what do we want to do before we die?

La (Switzerland, 1926 – USA, 2004) was a psychiatrist and writer. She is considered one of the people who has most studied death or transfer as she preferred to call it. Among her numerous books, we highlight: “Death: a dawn”, in which she collects testimonies from people she assisted in her last days. In it, she tells that most people did not regret what they had done, but rather the things they had not done, all the times they did not take risks, the dreams they never pursued. The most pronounced words were I wish I would have… her From all the interviews she concludes:

“It is not death that scares the most but having reached the end of life without having truly lived.” (Dr. Elizabeth Kübler-Ross)

In his latest book “Life Lessons”, written together with palliative care expert David Kessler, he tells us: “We are here to heal each other and ourselves. Not a healing as in physical recovery, but a much deeper healing. The healing of our spirits, of our souls”. What emerges from all his studies and reflections on death is precisely the importance of life, of this way of life.

“The wheel of life” is an autobiographical story in which he recounts his childhood with his two twin sisters, the three of them were dressed the same, they always carried out the same activities and they treated them the same. A good part of the steps of her life were after the search for her own identity, to be able to differentiate herself from her sisters and to know herself as an individual. The fact of focusing attention on being herself led her to believe in her possibilities and although her methods were not always accepted at the end of her life she would receive more than 25 Honoris Causa degrees from various universities. She was convinced that everyone has a gift and that we must develop and enhance it.

The most important thing is not whether we die soon or late, what is fundamental is how one lived before dying.

Death as we understand it does not exist, what exists is a trip and as for any other trip we can prepare our suitcases with the essentials. If we live awake, we will have our suitcases of life and we will be prepared to change shape because “life in the physical body represents only a small part of our existence.” From Bioneuroemoción® we suggest that we all come from a single source that is the one we will return to.

Enric Corbera, in his book “I am you: The non-dual mind”, tells us the following: “Consciousness identifies with everything it believes to be: desires, thoughts, objects, nationalities, etc. All that one is aware of is not the Self. That is why we must stop identifying with everything that surrounds us and with the body. You are here, at this moment, in this experience, in this experience, simply to transcend it and free yourself, to become Conscious, so that all the parts of this Everything wake up from this world of pain, suffering, illness and death. In the end one discovers that everything that one currently considers to be oneself – including the ego and the mind – is not Consciousness, it is simply awareness of oneself in different things. what is real does not die. What is not real never lived. When you know that death happens to the body and not to you, you simply watch your body decay like a used piece of clothing. What you really are is timeless and beyond life and death. The body will live as long as it takes. It is not important that I live long.”

“When we have accomplished the task that we have come to do on earth, we are allowed to leave our body, which imprisons our soul just as the silk cocoon encloses the future butterfly” and thus “we return to our home”.
