His 17-year-old son Dirk had been shot during a vacation in the Mediterranean.  Three months later Dirk died and soon after, Dr. Hamer, who had been healthy throughout his life but totally overwhelmed by this catastrophe, discovered that he was suffering from testicular cancer.  Suspecting that this was not mere coincidence, he decided to investigate the personal histories of cancer patients to see if they had experienced any conflicting shock, anguish, or trauma prior to their illness.<span id=\"more-2445\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Over time, and after intensive research with thousands of patients, Dr. Hamer finally managed to show that the disease is only caused by a shock that catches us completely off guard.  This last concept is very important.  If we somehow manage to prepare for the shock event, we will avoid getting sick.  In fact, Dr. Hamer prefers not to say &#8220;cancer.&#8221;  Rather, it is a special biological response to an unusual situation, and when the &#8216;shock&#8217; situation is resolved, the body rushes back to normal.  This is a very simplified version of the facts, of course.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\">1. Don&#8217;t panic.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Very often, people die in <strong>panic.<\/strong> The person should never panic, nor make others panic.  You have to be extremely careful with the environment and especially with who receives from us.  Love yourselves and also love each other.  Loving each other has a double meaning of great therapeutic value.  If one loves himself, first, he will not make any conflict with himself, neither of devaluation, nor of guilt.  If he loves others then he will not make any conflict with others.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Not panic means that the patient should never be frightened and that therapists should never frighten the patient.  Otherwise, even a cold becomes incurable, since it will cause a generalization.  Panicking is buying a one-way ticket.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\">2. Endure vagotonia.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Vagotonia is the abnormal excitability of the vagus nerve, with alterations in the function of the organs in which this nerve branches, mainly the heart, bronchi, stomach and intestines.  Around 10:00 p.m. the maximum impulse of vagotonia is normally triggered.  The vagus nerve is the most powerful nerve in the body: there is no way to beat sleep.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">That is our ancestral rhythm: man is a daytime animal, in his four million-year-old biological code of behavior, it is recorded that he must hunt, gather fruits, act during the day and rest at night.  It is during the night that everything is automated so that the body concentrates its work on the digestive tract.  We have less brain, cardiac, respiratory activity.  It is normally at night that any disease will become more unbearable because it is during this sluggishness that the brain repairs better and there may be more edema.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Something can be done to reduce these edemas to make it more bearable, but only reduce them because if they are prevented from acting, the repair will never be achieved, since the reconstitutive elements will not repair.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\">3. Every night, do the daily balance.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You have to know if you have not worked too much during the day.  If so, mandatory rest the next day (for major diseases such as cancer, , , etc&#8230;).  The person must be cured.  He can do many things, but he must take care of his illness above all things.  He should not wait for someone or something to cure him, he must be motivated.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There is a double message in this.  You must take care of <strong>itself<\/strong>, to review his day in his head, to be interested in life, to take notes, to make that balance.  If he did too much, he should rest the next day because otherwise he becomes too stressed, too active, with which the brain returns to normality.<strong> sympathicotonia<\/strong> stopping the vagotonia.  There the healing stops.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\">4. Every morning take a pencil and plan your day.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You have to respect the plan and provide for at least six hours of rest, in addition to the night.  These are the rules for the seriously ill and they have to fight against their anxieties.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The one who is in a wheelchair will always want to attend many meetings to demonstrate and prove to himself that he can do what everyone else does.  It&#8217;s an escape reaction, it&#8217;s a wicked game.  You have to concentrate on healing him because it is possible.  You must avoid entering the <strong>stress<\/strong> Of action.  With six hours of rest, in addition to the night, we have enough vagotonia.  The brain has an extraordinary power to <strong>heal us<\/strong> despite everything we do against it (between the fears, the fights, the depressing or terrible messages we receive during the day and because of the actions).<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\">5. Always do what is absolutely necessary first.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If that exceeds three hours of physical effort or<strong> psychological<\/strong>, you have to stop the superfluous and rest, with a happy heart because we are doing what is appropriate to heal ourselves, and not the opposite.  Most people get depressed, demoralized, afraid to rest: they have the stress of their problem, of their decrepitude, and that is a very strong secondary conflict.  &#8220;I can&#8217;t do anything anymore, I&#8217;m useless.&#8221;  Doing what is absolutely necessary first is going to allow the person to prove to himself that he still exists, but you have to time it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The sick person wants to show that he can do it, but if he spends three physical or psychological hours, he must stop.  The best thing is to read light, funny reading, watch funny movies and they can see it as many times as they want if they rent it.  It is therapy for laughter, since if you stop at the news, with wars, accidents, or movies of death, of violence, you unconsciously over-stress with liminal and subliminal images.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During recovery, I take care of myself, I love myself, I take care of myself, I pamper myself, this is vital, it is the way to heal.  It is not enough to decode and accept (sometimes yes) but you have to respect the repair as well.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\">6. Reject all confrontation.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Blaming, arguing with your environment is one of the biggest dramas that guarantees relapse or the impossibility of healing.  &#8220;I need your help and not your permanent opposition.&#8221;  Because one subtracts calories and strength from what the brain needs to repair and by monopolizing the energy to fight, the patient is generally exposed to the judgment of those around him, and they don&#8217;t know anything, they just talk to talk and the patient doesn&#8217;t let go, they don&#8217;t get out of stress<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Here I reproduce a phrase that <strong>Claude Sabbah<\/strong> attributes to his grandfather: \u201cIf people who have nothing to say were silent, there would be a great silence on the surface of the Earth.
