The Medical Center has not suspended care for patients of the EPS AIC, despite not having a valid agreement –

The Medical Center has not suspended, at any time, the attention to the patients of the EPS, AIC, and remains awaiting the signing of the letter by the EPS, to continue with the agreement and the treatments of the patients. The agreement ended on December 31.

At the moment, even without signing the agreement, twelve patients remain hospitalized, including eight children diagnosed with cancer. Last Friday, a girl affected by cancer was admitted to the Institution, with an acute feverish condition, considered a vital emergency.

“These are patients whose clinical management was started at our institution and must continue here, to achieve a better response and recovery. The medical team knows and manages its processes. A transfer to another institution would be counterproductive for the health of these patients, especially for children with cancer and their families.” stated Dr. Diana Castañeda, medical coordinator, of the Medical Center.

According to Dr. Castañeda, a good relationship has been maintained between the Institution and the EPS, and therefore patients maintain care in the different services, especially children with cancer.

“It must be made clear that with AIC there have been no problems related to the portfolio, and only the signing of the letter that enables the agreement is expected,” said Dr. Castañeda.

The Medical Center will not suspend ongoing services to AIC patients, and is confident that in the coming days the EPS will sign the letter that resumes the agreement for the care of its users.
