“Imagine losing part of your face, one morning looking in the mirror and no longer finding one of your eyes, your nose or any of your ears.” Although it may seem unlikely, this reality is faced by some Colombians who, due to illness, accidents or violence, have suffered the amputation of a facial member. The reason we don’t know them is because many of them retreat to their rooms, fearful of public rejection.
