4 keys to clear your emotional past

Our mind has two components: a conscious one, and a subconscious one. The first is the one that is active during the entire time we are awake. It allows us to think, analyze information, draw conclusions.

Meanwhile, the subconscious thought rests just below the conscious thought and seems not to be there. However, it is also always active, and it works by driving mechanical things. The subconscious, for example, manages vital functions: no one could be aware of every cell in their body all the time.

In addition, the subconscious directs our actions according to pre-established ideas, to specific patterns, to save effort. Habits, for example, park in the subconscious. For this reason, something that becomes a habit is no longer difficult to do: it simply “comes out by itself”.

The problem is that those patterns that our subconscious sets also determine the image of ourselves that we have. That image is created in the first four years of life, and it is very difficult to change.

Suffering is past, and the past does not exist

Life has many painful situations, which are impossible to avoid. Loss, goodbyes, illness… There will always be moments of pain in our lives.

But suffering is something else. Suffering is what becomes part of us, due to the inability to face pain. Instead of facing those painful things in our lives, we hide them: but they reappear, over and over again, in different forms.

So suffering is not real. The past does not exist, and suffering comes from the past. In this way, our past conditions our present over and over again.

Every time you react in a recurring way to a difficult situation, you are responding with ideas from the past. Ideas burned into your subconscious, that you hardly remember but that are there. Conditioning your behavior.

The only way to get ahead and change your life is to review your emotional past, and discover where it is that leads you to act like this. Clearing the past is the best way to face the future with strength and determination.

Exercises to clear your emotional past

There are ways and exercises to clear your subconscious emotions and get ahead. These are four that may serve you. But first of all, you must have in mind some of those patterns that you want to change. Identifying them is the first necessary step before beginning to heal.

1. Curious mind

The first exercise is to look curiously at that subconscious behavior pattern that is blocking you.

To do this, the first thing you should do is find a comfortable and relaxed place to sit. Try to enter a state of relaxation: it is best to resort to deep breathing.

So, pay attention to the emotional charge of your body in relation to the area of your life that you want to heal. It can be anger in the head, pressure in the chest, tension in the stomach, etc. If it doesn’t come immediately, imagine what would happen (imagination has power, don’t forget that).

If a lot of noise of thoughts appears in your head, just let them be. Don’t pay attention to them.

Focus your attention, instead, on these feelings that what you want to cure generates in you. Look at it from all angles, like something completely new. It may be that before these feelings you weaken a little, or feel tingling.

Each person lives it differently, but the only important thing is that you keep your attention on discovering what is happening. Observe and discover those emotions until they completely disappear.

Once they do… They won’t come back! Well, you will have faced it directly.

2. Sacred object

Not everyone can do the above exercise easily. Some people, when faced with such a heavy emotional burden, end up succumbing to it. Instead of confronting her, they end up distraught.

If you think that this can happen to you, you can try this: a sacred object that comes to your aid.

While you are in that relaxed state, facing the pattern of your subconscious, imagine a beautiful flower or some sacred object hovering over you. It must be big and powerful, and you must feel its presence; as well as his healing powers.

At this point, you don’t have to do anything!

Let the sacred object do the work for you, removing what you need to uproot from your mind.

3. Self forgiveness

Another profoundly powerful exercise you can try is the following.

Put yourself in a meditative state. Imagine going back in time, just before you were conceived. You have no body, and you are nothing but energy. You are about to be conceived in an act of absolute unconditional love between two people who are the embodiment of that love.

Dive deep into that experience. Now you grow in the womb, and your arrival is tremendously awaited by all. People are excited about your arrival in the world!

Imagine that you have been born in the arms of a perfect father. It can be made up, or someone you know. Feel the love they have for you.

So imagine that perfect parent looking you in the eye and saying, from the heart, “It’s not his fault. It was never your fault. It will never be your fault.” Immerse yourself in the experience completely. Not just through words, but with the impact of that unconditional love in your mind.

Do not take it lightly, as it can really bring about a change in your mind.

4. Sorry

This time, think of someone you need to forgive. They can be your parents or anyone from your past. This exercise is to eliminate resentment from your life. Once that is accomplished, you will be healed.

Think of that person you must forgive, and feel what emotional charge it generates in you. Now, imagine yourself somewhere alone: the forest, the beach or wherever you want. Visualize a child walking towards you.

That child represents the person you must forgive. He is vulnerable and innocent: he too is at the mercy of life.

Take the child in your arms, and tell him the same thing that you said before in the previous exercise: “It’s not your fault.” Feel those words deeply inside you, until the child disappears into the cosmos.
